About Lefty Firearms

- 35+ years shooting left-handed

- Michigan UP & mountain West
I grew up hunting and fishing in Michigan — the only left-handed shooter in a family full of right-handers. I've been shooting for more than 35 years, and I have never once shot right-handed.
My grandfather was a gun collector with a soft spot for the Savage Model 99, a lever action with an ambidextrous safety. That became my rifle through my youth, and it served me well in the woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where my family hunted deer every fall.
I later moved to Montana and fell in love with the plains and mountains of the West. I live in Florida now, but I still look forward to every trip back out west to hunt with my sons.
Like most left-handed hunters, I've spent years struggling to find rifles that actually fit me. Manufacturer sites bury their left-hand models, dealers rarely stock them, and nobody had put the whole picture in one place. That's why I built Lefty Firearms.
Why this site exists
Information on left-handed rifles is fragmented. Lefty rifles are genuinely hard to find, manufacturer sites bury them, and there has never been a single place to see what is actually available and compare the specs that matter. Lefty Firearms fixes that.
We maintain a catalog of 1,734 verified variants across 249 models from 34 manufacturers — true left-hand and ambidextrous rifles, both current and discontinued. Every spec is tied to an official manufacturer source with a last-verified date.
Who writes this
Every guide and every catalog listing on this site is written or reviewed by Brian. There is no anonymous editorial team — if a recommendation is here, a left-handed shooter with 35 years behind a rifle stands behind it.
How we make money
Lefty Firearms is free to use. When you click through to a retailer and make a purchase, we may earn a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. We list multiple retailers per rifle wherever possible so you can choose the best price and availability — we never hide options to favor a single partner.
A note on accuracy
Pricing and availability change constantly. We show MSRP and our last-known availability for reference, but always confirm the current price, stock, and specifications on the retailer's site before purchasing. Firearms purchases are subject to federal, state, and local law and must transfer through a licensed FFL where required.
